Congratulations to Noah Reeves of the Empire KC Swim Club as he has been selected to receive the Will M. Ensley Memorial Scholarship for the class of 2025. He is a graduate of Lee’s Summit High School. Noah was a swimmer for all four of his high school seasons, and helped lead his team as a captain. Noah was a 2-time All-American and a Missouri state champion in swim. He graduated with an unweighted GPA of 3.95, ranked 16th out of his class of 473. Noah will continue his swim career at Florida Atlantic University while pursuing a degree in engineering.


This scholarship is an annual award of $5,000 per year that is renewable for up to four years. This scholarship is available to graduating seniors from the Empire KC Swim Club, who intend to pursue a post-secondary undergraduate education at an accredited, non-profit institution of higher learning in the United States on a full-time basis or a vocational institution which provides vocational, educational, or technical skills training.

Congratulations to Mac Herbst as he has been selected as the award winner of the Will M. Ensley Memorial Scholarship for the Shawnee Mission Northwest class of 2025. Mac was a swimmer for all four of his high school years, and led his team as a captain during his senior season. He helped his 200 Free Relay team set a new school record and place second at state as a senior. He was also a member of the track and cross country teams as well as the chamber orchestra. Mac graduated with an unweighted GPA of 3.98. Mac will attend Kansas State University in the fall to pursue a degree in engineering.


This scholarship is an annual award of $10,000 per year that is renewable for up to four years. This scholarship is available to graduating seniors from the Shawnee Mission Northwest swim programs, who intend to pursue a post-secondary undergraduate education at an accredited, non-profit institution of higher learning in the United States on a full-time basis or a vocational institution which provides vocational, educational, or technical skills training.



 
 
 

Congratulations to Tyler VandenBos as he has been selected as the very first recipient of the Will M. Ensley Memorial Scholarship. He is the award winner for the Shawnee Mission Northwest High School class of 2024. Tyler was on the swim team for all four years at Shawnee Mission Northwest, helping lead the team as a captain in his senior year. Tyler was also a standout on the baseball diamond for Northwest playing all four years and serving as a captain as a senior. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with an International Baccalaureate Certificate, and the Kansas Seal of Biliteracy. He is currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science at Kansas State University.


This scholarship is an annual award of $10,000 that is renewable for up to four years. Graduating seniors from the Shawnee Mission Northwest High School swim programs who intend to pursue a post-secondary undergraduate education at an accredited, non-profit institution of higher learning in the United States on a full-time basis or a vocational institution which provides vocational, educational, or technical skills training are eligible and encouraged to apply.

The Will M. Ensley Memorial Scholarship Foundation was established in 2023 to provide annual post-secondary education scholarships to deserving graduating seniors from the Shawnee Mission Northwest High School swim programs, and from the Empire KC Swim Club.  The foundation also supports the Shawnee Mission Northwest swim teams with apparel and equipment needs. Our hope is that through the foundation’s charitable gifts Will’s light will continue to shine brightly in this world.
